Verdict Guilty launched out of Early Access on June 13, 2016, with the developer declaring it the "Final Version." The developer then continued to polish and expand the game through 2017, shipping several feature updates including new game modes, character moves, alternate characters, and gameplay improvements. On March 26, 2017, the developer posted a second explicit statement titled "Final Version! For now..." confirming that no further content would be added: "I won't be adding any more content for VG for now anyways." This post summarized all changes made since the original 1.0 release and signaled a clear end to active development. The developer's only communication after that date was a January 4, 2018 post promoting a separate, unrelated game (The Spy Who Shot Me). There has been no developer communication about Verdict Guilty since March 26, 2017. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained fighting game with no DLC, no season pass, and no announced future content.
