Virtual Aquarium launched out of Early Access on April 2, 2022. Since then, the developer shipped two major content drops: DLC Pack 4 on April 13, 2022 (adding 30 fish species), and DLC Pack 5 on December 22, 2022. Crucially, the December 22, 2022 announcement explicitly described Pack 5 as "the last DLC Pack number 5," which is a direct developer statement that content development is complete. The last developer communication of any kind was a bug-fix patch on February 14, 2023, which addressed keyboard shortcut crashes — routine maintenance with no indication of further content. All five DLC packs are released, and the developer has not announced any additional content since December 2022.
