However, the actual post-launch update history tells a more modest story: three feature-rich free updates (1.02 through 1.04) shipped between May and September 2022, followed by mod support in November 2022, and a final hotfix in January 2023 automating the recurring Plague Events. No expansions or new Journeys were ever released. The game is listed on Steam as "Weird West: Definitive Edition," indicating that the developer has repackaged it as a complete, final version of the product — a common practice signaling that content development has concluded. The only DLC is the soundtrack, which shipped on launch day. There have been no developer communications since January 5, 2023, a silence of over three years. The April 2022 promises of expansions and new Journeys were not fulfilled, and the Definitive Edition branding effectively signals that the game is now considered complete in its current form.
