Evaluation
Whisper of a Rose launched on November 14, 2014 and received post-launch patches through July 31, 2015, the date of the final version 1.08 patch notes. The developer shipped one piece of paid DLC — a strategy guide — on July 24, 2015, which remains the only DLC and is fully released. The developer's own post from July 25, 2015 reflects on the game in a clearly retrospective tone, describing it as a completed first project and thanking players, with no mention of further content planned. Subsequent news posts on the game's Steam page have exclusively promoted other RosePortal Games titles (The Princess' Heart, OH! RPG!, Epic Quest Deluxe), with no indication of additional content for Whisper of a Rose itself. The last developer communication touching on this game was in 2016, and no updates, DLC, or content announcements have appeared since. The game launched as a complete standalone RPG and there is no indication the developer has any further plans for it.
