Wing of Misadventure Retro

Wing of Misadventure Retro is a free-to-play MMORPG that launched on Steam on December 4, 2020. It is designed as an ongoing online service, with subscriptions, a paid points store, seasonal events, and a structure that is never meant to be "finished" in the traditional sense. The game has an active update history stretching from its Steam launch through late 2022. Major content releases included new avatar factions, maps, companions, and profession systems. The development team also went through a significant reorganization in early 2022, when the studio split development between this "Retro" version and a new project called WOM: Worlds, with a dedicated team assigned to keep Retro running. The October 9, 2022 post (version 2.5.0) was the last substantive developer communication. It confirmed that future content was planned — specifically a content update called Serai Fin, ranked PVP improvements, a companion system rework, a visual map update, and mobile portability — but also noted the team was undergoing "restructuring" that would delay the next update. The final post of any kind was a minor patch on October 16, 2022. Since October 16, 2022, there have been no further announcements, patch notes, or developer communications of any kind. The servers appear to be operational (the game remains purchasable and playable), but active development appears to have stalled. With announced content still undelivered and more than three years of silence since the last update, it is unclear whether development is genuinely continuing or has quietly stopped.
