World to the West

World to the West launched on May 5, 2017 as a complete, standalone action-adventure game. It was followed by two DLC items — a soundtrack (May 8, 2017) and a comic book (June 26, 2017) — both of which have shipped. No additional DLC has ever been listed or announced. The developer has never indicated any plans for additional story content or expansions. The 23 developer news posts on record are almost entirely sales announcements, anniversary posts, and community events, with no roadmaps or content announcements for the game. The most recent developer update was a February 26, 2025 patch (version 1.6.0) that ported over improvements previously made for the Nintendo Switch version, added controller support, and addressed various performance and bug fixes. The patch notes explicitly describe it as bringing the PC/Mac/Linux version up to parity with the Switch — not introducing new content. This is maintenance work, not a signal of new story or gameplay content in development. The game shipped as a self-contained narrative experience and has received no indication of further content additions at any point in its lifespan. Both released DLC items are cosmetic/supplementary (soundtrack and comic book). The game is complete.
