Evaluation
Yorkshire Gubbins launched on October 17, 2017 as a collection of short point-and-click comedy adventure episodes, with the developer explicitly promising to keep adding new episodes over time. The last major content addition was the "Aye Fair Lady" musical episode, released on April 22, 2021, which also brought a significant engine and UI overhaul to all existing episodes.
On June 27, 2023, the developer published a candid post warning that an announcement — either a new episode or a permanent end to further content — was coming in October 2023. On October 31, 2023, that announcement arrived: the developer, Charlotte, explained in detail that funding had run out years prior, and that despite exhausting every avenue she could find, it was simply not possible to deliver another episode while also holding a full-time job. She stated clearly and definitively: "I can't keep this promise. I will never be able to." This is a direct, unambiguous developer statement that no further content will be added to the game.
A minor maintenance patch was released on August 10, 2024 to fix a SteamOS/Linux launch error that had gone unpublished — this was purely a technical fix and does not indicate any renewed content development.
The game is complete as it stands, with four playable episodes. The developer has formally closed the book on future content additions.
Evidence
Developer Charlotte explicitly states she cannot and will never be able to deliver another episode, citing exhausted funding and the impossibility of development alongside full-time employment. Formally ends the promise of future content.
Aye Fair Lady musical episode released, along with a major engine and UI overhaul for all existing episodes. Developer notes work on a new episode would begin, but progress would be slow due to full-time employment.

About this game
Are you safe? Are you clean? Are you normal?
If the answer's yes... you probably don't live here. A bride, cloned by a slug monster on her big day. A robot on the run from a "Spork Jogger". Two print and trophy shop owners addicted to LARPing. A celebrity chef with underpants that hold a terrible, terrible secret. A reclusive tyrannical business leader forcing everyone to sing...
Must be Thursday.
