Evaluation

Zero Orders Tactics launched on November 4, 2024, and has been actively developed ever since. The developer β€” a solo indie creator β€” has shipped a consistent stream of updates across all categories: major content, feature patches, and bug fixes. The game's post-launch history includes three major releases: the "Under" DLC on November 19, 2025, which added a new faction, 31 units, 3 boss fights, and 3 heroes; and an iOS version that launched on May 14, 2026, the most recent major release. A MacOS version was also announced and released in April 2026. In between major releases, the developer has shipped numerous feature patches β€” including a new in-game encyclopedia ("Zeropedia") on March 12, 2025, a significant balance overhaul in December 2024, a trader economy rework in July 2025, and a Safe Mode feature in November 2025. The developer has posted 61 total news items, reflecting sustained engagement with the game and its community. The February 2026 post also teased a new separate game from the same developer, but this does not indicate that Zero Orders Tactics development is ending β€” it's framed as an additional project alongside continued ZOT support. The developer has not announced that development of Zero Orders Tactics is complete. Given the consistent pattern of updates β€” averaging roughly one major release every 6–8 months, with frequent smaller patches throughout β€” the game appears to be in ongoing active development. As of today (June 19, 2026), it has been approximately five weeks since the last major release (iOS launch, May 14, 2026), well within the established update cadence.
