BodyRecords is a cooperative horror game by MIROWIN, a Ukrainian studio, currently in Steam Early Access since April 17, 2025. Development was briefly paused due to funding difficulties related to the ongoing war in Ukraine, but on December 16, 2025, the developer officially announced that work had fully resumed. Since that resumption, MIROWIN has maintained a consistent and accelerating pace of updates. Update 0.2.0 shipped December 26, 2025; Update 0.2.2 arrived January 16, 2026 with a major vehicle overhaul; Update 0.3.0 launched February 5, 2026 adding late-join multiplayer support. On June 10, 2026, the team made a major gameplay overhaul — including a match-based structure, helicopter evacuation, a redesigned inventory and death system, and reworked enemies — available on the preview branch, which went fully public as Update 0.4.3.6 on July 27, 2026. This was followed by a hotfix on August 5, 2026, a major engine migration to Unreal Engine 5.7 on August 7, 2026, and most recently Update 0.5.4 on September 10, 2026 — just two days before this assessment — which added new weapons (a sawed-off shotgun and machete), a new melee combat system, reworked enemy AI, a radiation and healing overhaul, and numerous multiplayer and world improvements. The game remains at version 0.5.4 with no announcement of a 1.0 release or the conclusion of Early Access. The developer's own post on September 10, 2026 explicitly states "more improvements are already in development," and the August 7, 2026 engine migration post describes the upgrade as providing "a stronger foundation for future updates." The game is clearly in the middle of an active development cycle with no signs of winding down.
