Card Survival: Tropical Island launched into full 1.0 release on September 16, 2022, after a period of Early Access development. At launch, the developers outlined short-term plans for bug fixes and a Halloween update featuring a Mermaid character, and longer-term plans to continue updating at a lower pace while shifting focus to upcoming projects.
The game received one major post-launch content update: Update 42 on June 1, 2023, which introduced a completely overhauled combat system, new weapons, armor, and related content. This was a substantial addition to the game's systems.
Following Update 42, the studio's public communications shifted almost entirely toward their next game, Card Survival: Fantasy Forest. A May 2023 development post confirmed the team was working on Fantasy Forest alongside Tropical Island, and subsequent announcements (October 2023, May 2024, September 2024, February 2025) were all focused on Fantasy Forest's development and Early Access launch. Fantasy Forest launched into Early Access on February 28, 2025.
The most recent post touching on Tropical Island was a localization and engine update on October 12, 2025, which added Polish and Hungarian language support and addressed a Unity security vulnerability — maintenance-level work rather than new content.

Keep yourself busy with lots of activities

- Build yourself a home and other structures out of wood and mud, including animal enclosures, crop plots and water reservoirs.
- Roast, smoke, dry and salt different meats, make your own bread, oil, cheese, sugar, alcohol and cook lots of different recipes.
Complex health system
- Suffer from foot and hand sores, back pain, sunburns and even bug bites. Craft protective clothing and use multiple medicinal plants to treat these ailments.
- Sprains, fractures, abrasions, bleeding lacerations and animal bites are some of the many ways in which you can get hurt. Wash and treat your wounds to stave off infection and promote healing.
- Get fever, diarrhoea, nausea, headaches and rashes from the bacteria and parasites you can catch on the island. Feed yourself well and keep your morale high to help strengthen your immune system.
- Experience a complex psychological system that features boredom, isolation, anxiety, depression and spiritual or psychotic experiences. Make imaginary or animal friends, entertain yourself with fun and creative activities and achieve interesting mental states.
