Evaluation

CarX Drift Racing Online 2 entered Early Access on May 7, 2026 and remains explicitly unfinished, with the developer actively building toward a full 1.0 release. The team continues to ship content and communicate at a high frequency. Since the previous evaluation, two additional major updates have landed: Update 0.19.0 on June 29, 2026 added the Gunma Cycle Sport Center track, a night mode for Kami Road, and new career events; Update 0.20.0 on August 20, 2026 added the South Port location, seven new cars, and visual improvements. That brings the total to six major content drops since launch in May 2026 — a very fast cadence for a game only a few months old. The developer published a 2026 roadmap on July 11, 2026, outlining planned content for the rest of the year. Development News #11 (August 25, 2026) confirmed active work on synchronous TOP-32 events and a regulations widget. Development News #12 (September 8, 2026) — the most recent developer communication as of today's date (September 14, 2026) — describes ongoing work on new vehicles, custom map loading coming soon to alpha testing, a revamped physics system being prepared for the main branch, graphics improvements (Sky Occlusion), and a livery editor nearly ready for release. A feature patch on September 11, 2026 pushed further fixes and improvements to the alpha branch. The developer is communicating multiple times per week and has a clear pipeline of features in various stages of development. There are no signs of slowdown or distress.

About this game

A new entry in the CarX Drift Racing series features a real competition format and a judging system of modern drift championships.

Physics

The new realistic physics and tire model are a perfect fit for steering wheel setups and other game controllers. To prepare for multiplayer tournaments, you will progress from a beginner drift racer to a professional pilot, competing in world drift series.

Multiplayer

Duels, TOP 32 and freeride in online rooms. Skill-based matchmaking and a rating system in online events for your comfortable experience.

For us, drift is primarily a sport. To launch a series of esport tournaments around the world is the primary goal of this project.

Customization

An advanced tuning system and customization. Suspension, gearbox, ECU, and other important parts of a racecar are upgradeable, tunable, and finely customizable.

The damage system adds an extra layer of realism and immersion. Losing a bumper during a close call or leaving dents in a leader’s door is now possible!

Locations

The game features laser-scanned licenced tracks: Ebisu Circuit, Fuji Speedway & Gunma Cycle Sports Center in Japan, Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany, Dominion Raceway in USA & ADM Raceway in Russia.

Career

You will start your drifting career in the drift school, learning the basics and mastering advanced drift control.

In Career mode, you’ll rise through the ranks - from local street contests to elite world championships. Compete in racing series, dominate championships, secure sponsorships, and fine-tune your cars to meet regulations. Most importantly, prepare yourself for the ultimate challenge - drifting online!

Controllers

We support most of steering wheels, gear shifters, gamepads, and other common controllers, available on the market, but we can always add more, the work’s not done yet.
