Contractors launched in December 2018 and has a well-established history of major content updates. The identifiable major updates include the Enhancement Update (November 11, 2021), the Winter Update (December 22, 2021), the Hazard Update (April 28, 2022) adding zombie survival mode, and the Game Experience Update (September 1, 2022) with physics overhauls and an expanded modkit. After a longer gap, the Mobilized Update arrived on November 21, 2024, introducing 24-player Rush mode, expanded Ground War limits, vehicle support, ziplines, parachutes, vaulting, and character facelifts. This establishes a pattern of major updates roughly every 6–26 months, with the longer gaps (e.g., the ~26-month gap before the Mobilized Update) also fitting within the developer's established — if irregular — cadence. The November 2, 2024 situation report described the Mobilized Update as something the community had been waiting for and stated "we're just getting started," indicating no intention to conclude development at that point. The most recent developer communication is a bug fix patch on May 29, 2025, confirming Caveman Studio remains engaged. As of October 8, 2026, it has been approximately 17 months since the last major content drop (November 21, 2024) and about 17 months since the last developer communication (May 29, 2025). The historical gap between major updates has ranged from about 1 month (Enhancement to Winter Update) to 26 months (Game Experience Update to Mobilized Update). The longest observed gap is 26 months, and we are currently at 17 months — still within that outer boundary. The developer has not announced the conclusion of development or that no further content is planned.
