Crystalfall launched into Early Access on April 10, 2026 as a free-to-play online Action RPG. The developer shipped multiple hotfixes in the weeks following launch, and on June 4, 2026 released a substantial content update adding 57 new unique items, 4 new skills, 7 new mobs, expanded endgame content, and an offline singleplayer mode. However, on June 16, 2026 — just 12 days after that content update — the studio announced they did not have the financial runway to continue developing Crystalfall as a free online live service game. They set July 16, 2026 as the date to shut down the online servers, giving players 30 days to download their characters and progress to the offline version. As of today (July 16, 2026), the studio has confirmed the servers are now offline. The offline singleplayer version of the game remains on Steam and is playable for free, but the developer has explicitly stated that plans for additional hotfixes and patches are discontinued and that they will not be available for game support. The game remains in Early Access — it never reached a 1.0 release — and no further development is planned for the foreseeable future. The studio says it will continue operating and may explore future development on Crystalfall or other projects, but no concrete plans have been announced.
