Torchlight II launched on September 20, 2012 as a complete action RPG. Over the following years it received platform expansions — a Mac port on February 2, 2015 and a Linux port on March 4, 2015 — and a final patch on August 1, 2017 that added Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese language support. No new gameplay content, DLC, expansions, or roadmaps have ever been announced.
The most recent developer post, dated September 15, 2026, is a server infrastructure notice: the publisher (now XD, not the original Runic Games) is migrating online multiplayer from the Arc Games account service to TapTap.io accounts. The post explicitly states this update will not affect single-player mode or local save data, and it compensates former Arc Games website purchasers with Steam keys. This is a maintenance and service-continuity action, not new content development. It does confirm that the game's online multiplayer service is being actively maintained, but it introduces no new game content and makes no mention of any planned updates beyond the server migration itself.
