Curious Expedition

Curious Expedition launched on September 2, 2016 and received a series of post-launch content updates through 2017, including the Arctic Expanse biome update on March 6, 2017 and a major modding and achievements update on December 20, 2017. After that point, the only notable post for this game was a November 2019 feature update adding an online "RIVALS" mode — primarily a teaser vehicle for Curious Expedition 2, which was in closed alpha at the time. Since late 2019, the developer has shifted its full attention to Curious Expedition 2 (which launched into Early Access and received multiple DLC expansions through 2022) and then to their new game Mother Machine (announced August 2024, launched March 28, 2025). There have been no patches, announcements, or communications directed at the original Curious Expedition since 2019. The studio's news posts from 2021 onward are entirely about Curious Expedition 2 and Mother Machine. The only DLC listed for Curious Expedition is the OST and Artbook, which released in 2015 and is fully available. There are no unreleased DLC items, no roadmap commitments, and no developer statements promising future content for this game. The original Curious Expedition launched as a complete product and received its final meaningful content updates in 2017. It is a finished game.
