Evaluation
Dance of Death: Du Lac & Fey launched on April 5, 2019 and received a series of post-launch updates as the small indie team worked to improve the game based on community feedback. Three meaningful content updates shipped after launch: a new storyline featuring a romanceable Du Lac & Alex alongside 24 new achievements in June 2019 (v1.3), a localisation update adding French, German, and Russian subtitle support with additional story content in October 2019 (v1.4), and finally the Director's Cut on July 31, 2020 — a free update for all existing owners that added new achievements, new content, subtitles, and bug fixes. The Director's Cut appears to represent the culmination of the team's post-launch improvement effort. Following its release on July 31, 2020, there have been no further developer communications of any kind. The only two DLC items (an OST and an art book) both released in May 2019 and are fully shipped. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, no roadmap pointing to anything beyond what has already shipped, and no developer posts since July 31, 2020. The game launched as a narrative adventure with a defined story, and the Director's Cut appears to be the final, polished version of that complete experience.
