Dark Light launched into full release (v1.0) on September 29, 2022, after roughly 2.5 years in Early Access. The v1.0 launch post described the game as complete, with a fully built-out world of six biomes, 14 major bosses, and multiple endings. It did mention intentions to add a few more weapons, an extra game mode, and console ports as post-launch goals.
On May 26, 2023, the developer shipped Major Update V1.1, adding a new Gear System, New Game+, a new weapon, expanded player attributes, and a redesigned skill tree. This is the last major content update delivered to Dark Light itself. Following that, a series of smaller polish and bug-fix patches ran through mid-2023.
The only subsequent developer communications have been about a separate, new game in the same universe: Dark Light: Survivor was announced for wishlisting in July 2024, and a Dark Light Franchise Bundle — bundling the original Dark Light with Dark Light: Survivor — launched on May 29, 2026. Neither of these represents new content for the original Dark Light. The franchise bundle post is a marketing announcement for the new game, not a content update for this one.
There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store, no announced future content for Dark Light itself, and no developer statement promising additional updates to the original game. The developer's focus has clearly shifted to Dark Light: Survivor. The original game appears to have reached its final content state with the May 2023 major update.
