Dark Souls II launched on April 25, 2014 and received a complete trilogy of paid DLC expansions — Crown of the Sunken King (July 22, 2014), Crown of the Old Iron King (August 26, 2014), and Crown of the Ivory King (September 29, 2014). The final DLC was explicitly marketed as "the grand finale" of the Lost Crowns trilogy, and the announcement for the first DLC made clear the trilogy was the full extent of planned post-launch content. All DLC listed on the store has been released. A Scholar of the First Sin (Definitive Edition) was released separately on Steam under a different App ID. The most recent developer communication was a November 30, 2022 post restoring online multiplayer servers, which was a maintenance action rather than a signal of new content. No new content has been announced or released since September 2014, and FromSoftware has never indicated any further additions are planned for this version of the game. The game is a complete, finished product.
