Mortal Shell II launched worldwide on August 20, 2026, the same day as this assessment. The game is a standalone action-RPG sequel from Cold Symmetry, released on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Devout Edition (digital deluxe) was available for pre-order and granted three days of early access starting August 17; this edition is also listed as released on the store. The Devout Edition includes eight exclusive Obsidian Shell Skins and is described as a premium upgrade — there is no indication from the developer that it contains additional story content or represents unshipped material beyond what launched with the base game. Because the game only just released today, there is no post-launch developer communication or update history from which to determine whether additional content is planned.
