Deathmatch Classic

Deathmatch Classic launched on June 1, 2001 as a complete, self-contained multiplayer game — a tribute to id Software's Quake Deathmatch. It has never had a post-launch content roadmap, paid DLC, or announced expansions of any kind. The game shipped as a finished product and has remained that way ever since. The developer activity visible in the news history consists entirely of maintenance work: a platform and engine update in July 2013 (adding Mac/Linux support and converting to the SteamPipe delivery system), security and crash-fix patches in July 2017 and August 2018, and a minor update in October 2019 that flowed through from shared Half-Life engine resources. None of these represent new gameplay content, and no post-launch major content was ever added beyond the game's original release. The most recent developer communication was on October 8, 2019. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced future content, and no developer statements suggesting further development is planned. This is a legacy multiplayer title that has been complete since its 2001 launch and has received only periodic maintenance patches in the years since.
