Desktop Dungeons

Desktop Dungeons originally launched and received its last major content update — the Enhanced Edition — as a free update on April 19, 2015, adding new classes, quests, and the Daily Dungeon feature. That update was followed by a small patch in June 2015 and a bug fix in May 2015, with no further content development after that point. In August 2022, QCF Design announced Desktop Dungeons: Rewind, a separate, fully remastered version of the game (App ID 1976950), which launched on April 18, 2023. As a thank-you to existing owners, the studio gave Desktop Dungeons: Rewind away for free to anyone who already owned the original. The final post on this game's news feed — dated April 29, 2023 — was a compatibility patch to fix a save file bug introduced by the Rewind launch. All DLC for this version of the game was released back in November 2013 (the soundtrack and Goatperson DLC), and no new DLC or content updates have been announced. The developer's attention has clearly shifted to Desktop Dungeons: Rewind as the successor product. There are no outstanding content commitments, no roadmap, and no developer communications since April 29, 2023 that suggest further updates to this edition are planned. The game is a complete, finished product.
