Doom & Destiny launched on March 18, 2015 as a complete, self-contained JRPG. The developer explicitly stated in a March 2019 update that no new content was planned for this game, as the team's focus had shifted to developing the sequel, Doom & Destiny Worlds. The game received only technical and bug-fix patches after that point — most recently a performance update in July 2022 and a small bug-fix patch in October 2022.
On May 22, 2025, Heartbit Interactive announced that the studio is shutting down due to economic reasons. They confirmed that existing games, including Doom & Destiny, will remain available for purchase and that they will continue providing support as best they can. This closure announcement leaves no ambiguity about future content development — the studio is no longer making new games. Doom & Destiny launched as a finished product and has remained so throughout its life.
