Evaluation

Drift Legends 2 launched on June 5, 2025 as a free-to-play arcade drifting game and has been running as a live-service title since then. The store description highlights daily and weekly events with prizes, weekly leaderboards, and rotating cosmetic rewards — hallmarks of a game designed to receive ongoing content indefinitely. The developer has maintained a strong cadence of updates throughout the game's life. Feature patches arrived shortly after launch (June 19, 2025), followed by a Big Summer Update (September 2, 2025), Steam Deck support and Discord integration (October 9, 2025), a bug-fix pass in November 2025, and rotating weekly Special Event phases running from late 2025 onward. The Winter Update on February 13, 2026 added two new online tracks and expanded multiplayer capacity, and Spring Update 1.6 on April 13, 2026 introduced new daily competition phases, prize-class cars, and customization items. Most significantly, on July 29, 2026, the developer shipped the first named paid DLC — "Rally Stars" — adding 4 new cars and 30 new challenges. Just days later, on August 3, 2026, the developer announced another DLC-style expansion is already in development, featuring four additional cars (Magnum Mark VI, Hunter DL Edition, Magnum Mark X, Hunter RSI Spirit R) and 30 exclusive races. This upcoming expansion has been publicly announced but not yet released, confirming that additional content is actively on the way. The seven DLC packs listed in the store were all released on launch day (June 5, 2025) and function as tiered progression bundles. The "Rally Stars" DLC released July 29, 2026 represents the first of a new wave of expansion content, with more explicitly announced.
