Evaluation

Eador. Imperium launched on January 27, 2017 and received a solid run of post-launch updates throughout 2017 and into 2018. The major content milestone was the free "Epilogue" campaign added on October 26, 2017, which the developer described as a story conclusion for the game. Feature patches followed in December 2017, January 2018, March 2018, and August 2, 2018 — the last of which added a province unit-hiring mechanic. That August 2018 update is the final developer communication directed at Imperium specifically. After August 2018, Snowbird Games shifted focus entirely to new projects. On November 26, 2020, they announced a brand-new Eador universe title built on Unreal Engine — a separate game, not additional content for Imperium. Their December 25, 2020 holiday message acknowledged they "were not able to keep all our promises" and expressed hope for 2021, but no Imperium-specific content was referenced. There have been no further updates or communications about Imperium since then. The developer made no explicit "final update" statement, but the pattern is clear: feature development wrapped up in mid-2018, and the studio's energy has been directed toward a successor title for over five years. The game shipped as a complete experience including all content from the predecessor (Masters of the Broken World), added a story epilogue and several gameplay systems post-launch, and has seen no activity since August 2, 2018. No DLC was ever listed as unreleased, no roadmap outstanding commitments exist, and no further content has been announced for this title.
