Evaluation

Everyone Dies launched on January 3, 2020 and received a burst of post-launch updates through early February 2020. In the first month, the developer shipped two major content updates — version 1.1.0 on January 6 (adding new weapons, a new level, and gameplay changes) and version 1.2.0 on January 12 (adding character customization) — along with several smaller patches through January and into early February. The final recorded communication was on February 2, 2020 (update 1.2.3), which included a note that "a big update" was planned for March 2020. That March update was never announced or delivered in any subsequent news post, and no developer communication of any kind has appeared since February 2, 2020 — over six years ago. The only DLC, the game's soundtrack, was released on February 13, 2020 and no further DLC has been listed. With all post-launch updates shipped, no unreleased DLC on the store, and the developer having gone completely silent since early 2020, the game's content appears to have concluded. The promised March 2020 update was never delivered, but given the six-plus years of silence since then, that commitment is no longer active — the game has reached its final state.

STORY

A new breed of dove “ICO” (from the Latin Infectis columbae offeret) became the cause of the apocalypse. This poisonous dove disperses spores which if inhaled will turn the person into something unrecognizable. The poison takes over the mind and forces one to hunt other people, to consume their flesh. The victims of this naturally occurring virus lose their minds, become consumed by an insatiable hunger and become fixated on the idea of devouring everything that moves and breathes. Plainly speaking the new breed of dove ICO has brought upon a zombie apocalypse.

Some people developed an immunity to this poison. Because of this no matter how much poison they breathe.
