Finnish Cottage Simulator has been in Early Access since November 15, 2024 and continues to receive substantial new content. Since launch, the developer has shipped three major content updates: the Moonshine Update (July 4, 2025), the New Neighbor Update (October 31, 2025), and the Berry Update (February 13, 2026). These have been accompanied by a consistent stream of feature patches and bug fixes throughout 2025 and 2026. The developer's most recent communication — a September 1, 2026 post — confirms directly that they have been working on the next content update and plan to share details about it soon. This follows a May 8, 2026 development update in which the studio announced it had hired new programmers and was working on a PS5 port, stating players should expect more frequent content going forward. A May 28, 2026 patch even included a sneak peek GIF teasing the upcoming update. The developer's first anniversary post on November 15, 2025 also reaffirmed that "new content will keep on coming out" and that they have "exciting plans for future content." The game is openly unfinished, actively being developed, and has a confirmed content update in progress.
