Evaluation

FPS Game: Dev Test launched on February 26, 2022 as a free-to-play multiplayer shooter explicitly described as a development and networking test project. The store description states the game "will continue to adapt and have new mechanics and testable features as time goes on" and promises more game modes and weapon systems to be added. The developer was actively posting updates throughout early 2022, shipping a series of feature patches (versions 0.6 through 0.8) between March and April 2022. On April 8, 2022, the developer announced that version 0.8 would be the last major update on the Unreal Engine 4 build, and that they would begin work on a full UE5 rebuild to launch as Version 1.0 — with promised additions including a Co-op Mode and UI overhaul. On April 21, 2022, the developer followed up with a community poll asking for input on the UE5 rebuild's direction regarding graphics style, setting, and gameplay feel. That April 21, 2022 post is the last developer communication on record. No further patches, announcements, or updates have been published since then. The promised UE5 Version 1.0 rebuild has never been announced as released or cancelled. Over four years have passed since the last post with no explanation from the developer. While the game's store description still promises ongoing development and the original plans remain publicly stated, the prolonged silence makes it unclear whether this rebuild is still in progress, has been abandoned, or has been quietly shelved.
Evidence
Developer solicited community feedback on the direction of the UE5 rebuild, covering graphics style, game setting, and gameplay feel. This is the last official communication from the developer.

About this game

FPS Game: Dev Test, is a First person shooter that is strictly built of a development asset, its intended purpose is to test and showcase networking features and other advanced Steam systems. It will continue to adapt and have new mechanics and testable features as time goes on. It is functioning and can be played by anyone. It is intended for multiplayer PVP combat and sessions, but creates online sessions using listen server at the moment. This is good if you want to just play with your friends only in a small private game.

It currently uses a basic sort of class system that gives you a skill based on what class is selected e.g. Ammo box, health box, explosives box. On the loadout screen the player will get to pick what Class, Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Perk and Grenade type.

You can play single player against bots, or multiplayer (can include bots as well). It uses a server browser, so look for a game and join random people. or create a game for you and your friends for the private experience if you'd prefer.
