Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition launched on August 21, 2014 as the definitive version of the original Guacamelee!, bundling the base game with expanded content including new levels, powers, and challenges. The short store description explicitly calls it "the definitive version" of the game. A final feature update adding 4-player local co-op went live on November 6, 2014, which represents the last substantive content addition to the game. Since that November 2014 update, there have been no further patches, DLC, or content announcements for this title. Drinkbox Studios has been fully focused on other projects — most notably Nobody Saves the World (released January 2022) and their newly announced game Blighted (announced June 9, 2025, with active development confirmed as recently as August 25, 2025). The studio's own communications make no mention of any plans to return to Guacamelee! STCE. All DLC in the store listing has been released. This game launched as a complete package and received its final content update in November 2014.

About this game

Carlos Calaca has kidnapped El Presidente's Daughter, and he plans to sacrifice her in order to merge the World of the Living with the World of the Dead.

Juan Aguacate, an agave farmer who stumbles upon a Legendary Luchador mask, must find the strength and courage to become the Hero he's always dreamed of being and put a stop to this.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is a Metroidvania-style action-platformer set in a magical world inspired by traditional Mexican culture and folklore. The game features melee combat, parallel dimensions and same-screen co-op. The original Guacamelee! received wide critical acclaim and was a finalist for both IndieCade and the Independent Games Festival's Excellence in Visual Art award.
