GunSuit Guardians is a solo-developed Early Access action-roguelite that has been in active development since its March 31, 2023 launch. The developer, Matt Glanville, has shipped three major content updates across the game's lifespan: v0.37.0 at launch (March 31, 2023), Update 0.41 (August 24, 2023), and the massive v0.43 update (April 15, 2026). The gap between the second and third major updates was significant — the developer explained in both a December 5, 2024 post and a March 23, 2026 post that family responsibilities and freelance work obligations had pulled his time away from the project. Crucially, in the March 23, 2026 announcement, he explicitly stated: "I love GunSuit Guardians, I'm proud of it, and I fully intend to get it to Version 1.0." The v0.43 update that followed on April 15, 2026 is described as the biggest update in the game's history, adding a new game mode (LockZone), a boss overhaul with two new bosses, a Hero Rank system, difficulty selection, three new weapons, nine new artifacts, and fifteen new achievements. The developer has not announced specific future content beyond 1.0, but the game remains in Early Access and the developer has clearly communicated that 1.0 is the intended destination. The most recent developer communication was on April 15, 2026.
