Maiden and Spell

Maiden & Spell launched on February 24, 2020 as a complete fighting game. In the years following launch, the developer (mino_dev) issued several balance patches and quality-of-life updates responding to community feedback, and ported the game to Nintendo Switch in April 2021. Importantly, in a June 1, 2021 post, the developer explicitly stated that previously mentioned plans for extra character costumes were being dropped: "I know that I said I would be doing extra character costumes for Maiden & Spell in the past but, unfortunately, I'm not sure that's happening anymore." This signals that no substantial new content was planned for the game. The developer's focus shifted entirely to their next project, Rabbit & Steel, which was formally announced in December 2022. The most recent balance patch was posted on June 30, 2023, followed by a 5th anniversary celebration post on February 25, 2025, which was warm and retrospective in tone ("The Maidens' adventures still continue through you...") — consistent with a developer looking back at a completed project rather than teasing future content. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future updates, and no active development roadmap for the game. The only DLC ever released was the soundtrack, which shipped on March 17, 2020. All evidence points to the game being a finished product, with the last content-bearing update having shipped in June 2023.
