GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2 is a fully released fighting game that has reached the end of its content and update cycle. The game launched on Steam on June 1, 2017, following an earlier December 2016 base release, and received a series of post-launch content updates: "After Story B" (June 15, 2017), a Digital Figure and Combo Maker update (July 20, 2017), and "After Story C" (August 9, 2017). All 13 DLC items listed on the store have been released, with the most recent being a promotional music track added on January 22, 2020.
The most significant post-launch development was the addition of rollback netcode, publicly tested from October 2022 and officially launched on January 20, 2023. Arc System Works followed up with a series of bug-fix patches through May 30, 2023 to address issues introduced by the rollback implementation. That May 30, 2023 patch is the last official communication from the developer.
There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced upcoming content, and no roadmap or developer statement indicating future updates. The rollback netcode work — a substantial technical improvement — appears to have concluded with the final polish patch in May 2023. The game has received no further updates since that date. Given the absence of any new content announcements and the completion of all known work, the game is a finished product.

Game contents revamped to provide for gamers of all skill levels, you cannot miss out on this one!
For players who already somewhat know their bearings in Fighting Games, we have the COMBO mode to teach all characters' worth of their combo potentials, and the MISSION mode to teach about the characters' general tactics and techniques. There's also the staple "TRAINING" mode, equipped with tons of features that allow you to recreate the situation of your choice, so as to allow you to train and research!
The well-received STORY mode is now back with more punch! Fully cinematic with the 3D graphics engine, explore the lore and find out.. the REVELATIONS of "Guilty Gear". There's also a short introduction to the past series at the start of the story mode, so players new to the series need not fret!
In "Player Match" mode, you can walk around with your own customizable avatars and communicate with other players in the 3D room environment.
You can also place an entry in the "Rank Match" and proceed to play other offline game modes such as TRAINING mode, while waiting for your entry to be paired up.
The replays stored from your matches do not only show the match as-is, but you can also view both you and your opponent's key inputs, and you can change the camera angle to view the battle from a different perspective!
