Evaluation

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle launched in 2018 and received a substantial post-launch DLC campaign across 2018–2019, adding character packs and color packs. The biggest content milestone was the Version 2.0 Expansion Pack, released on November 21, 2019, which added 9 new fighters from additional guest universes (Senran Kagura, Akatsuki Blitzkampf) along with a new scenario and character interactions. Following Ver. 2.0, the developer's activity shifted to maintenance and technical improvements rather than new content. A significant quality-of-life upgrade — rollback netcode — was announced in December 2021, entered public testing in February 2022, and officially launched on April 14, 2022. A security and input-quality fix followed in August 2022, which appears to be the last developer communication on record. All 13 DLC items listed on the store are released, with no unreleased items remaining. There is no developer statement announcing future content, no roadmap, and no pattern of ongoing major content releases after Version 2.0. The rollback netcode implementation in April 2022 represents the final meaningful developer activity. The game is complete as a content package, with the last substantive update having shipped on April 14, 2022.
