Evaluation
Monster Hunter Rise launched on PC on January 12, 2022 and received a major paid expansion — Sunbreak — on June 30, 2022. Following Sunbreak's launch, Capcom delivered a sustained series of free Title Updates: Title Update 1 (August 9, 2022), Title Update 2 (September 28, 2022), Title Update 3 (November 23, 2022), Title Update 4 (February 6, 2023), and Title Update 5 (April 19, 2023). This concluded with the "Bonus Update" on June 7, 2023, which added the final monster, Primordial Malzeno, and wrapped up Elgado's story arc.
On June 15, 2023, director Suzuki published a direct statement explicitly marking the end of regular development updates for the game. He described that post as his "last regular update," confirming that content development for Rise and Sunbreak had concluded, though event quests would continue running through July 2023. This is an unambiguous developer statement that the game's content cycle is complete.
The only developer news since that announcement relates to other Monster Hunter franchise titles — specifically Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Stories 3 — with no indication of any new content returning to Rise.
All 252 DLC items listed on the store are released, consistent with the conclusion of the content cycle. The most recent patch (January 22, 2024) was a compatibility fix for Steam Deck and carried no new content. Monster Hunter Rise is a complete, fully-released game with no further content planned.
Evidence
Director Suzuki explicitly stated 'This is my last regular update,' marking the formal end of regular content development for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Event quests were noted to continue through July 2023, but no further content updates were announced.
The Bonus Update (Ver.16.0.0.0) released Primordial Malzeno and concluded the Elgado storyline, serving as the final major content addition to the game.
