Evaluation
Narcosis launched on March 28, 2017 as a complete, self-contained narrative horror game. In the months following launch, Honor Code shipped several patches addressing bug fixes, balance adjustments, and VR controller support (Oculus Touch). On the game's one-year anniversary, the developer released a bonus DLC package called "Raptures of the Deep" — a free bundle of supplementary materials including the 15-track ambient soundtrack, an in-universe survivor novel, and a radio interview. After a brief delay for Valve approval, this anniversary DLC became fully available on April 9, 2018. The developer explicitly described this content, alongside the game itself, as comprising the "complete Narcosis experience." No further content has been announced or shipped since that date. The June 2024 post from the Narcosis Steam page was a cross-promotion for an entirely new game (AI Confidential) being developed by some of the same creative team — it contains no indication of new Narcosis content. The game launched as a finished narrative product and has not received any content updates since April 2018.
