Need for Speed Payback originally launched on other platforms in November 2017 and arrived on Steam on June 18, 2020. The Steam store description references an "upcoming Story Mission Pack" as part of the Deluxe Edition — however, this language almost certainly reflects the original 2017 promotional copy carried over to the Steam listing, as all four DLC items in the store are marked as released (three of them dated June 18, 2020, the Steam launch date). There is no unreleased DLC on the store. The developer news section contains no meaningful communications — zero content updates, patches, announcements, or development status posts across all four scanned entries. Ghost Games as a studio was quietly wound down by EA around 2020, with Need for Speed development transferred to Criterion Games. There has been no post-launch content activity on Steam whatsoever. The game arrived on Steam as a complete, finished product — all content already released — with no post-launch update cycle and no indication of future content from the developer.
