Evaluation
Neon Echo launched into Early Access on April 20, 2023. In the weeks following launch, Xinyuan Studio was very active — posting patch notes and feature updates roughly every few days between April 20 and May 30, 2023. These updates added content such as new Rhapsody skills, a Hunter Record system, Steam achievements, and various balance and quality-of-life improvements.
The last developer communication was a feature patch posted on May 30, 2023. In the May 25, 2023 update, the developer explicitly stated: "Our next big version update will focus on new battlefields, new bosses, and new stories!" — a direct promise of substantial upcoming content. That content was never delivered.
Since May 30, 2023, there have been no patch notes, announcements, blog posts, or any other public communication from the developer. The game has been in complete silence for over three years as of June 21, 2026, while still listed on Steam as an Early Access title. The promised major update has not arrived, and there is no explanation for the prolonged silence. The Early Access store description still references the limited current content (three careers) as part of the EA build, with no indication of a path to a 1.0 release.
Evidence
Feature patch optimizing Rhapsody skills and fixing bugs — the last official communication from the developer.
Developer explicitly promised the next major update would bring new battlefields, new bosses, and new stories.

Now, a group of exceptional teenagers will embark on a journey to vanquish the noise and restore peace by utilizing the power of electronic music.

Experience different careers:
The Early Access version contains three careers - Tachi Warrior, Gunner, and Boxer. Each of them has different talents and skills and possesses both “Common” and “Neon” forms, creating different combat experience.
Free Combinations of Builds:
Apart from the 7 factions of Builds in the game, we have "Rhapsody" for attack and skill form transformation, a more flexible in-game Build system called "Rhythm Launchpad", and a challenging gameplay mode named “Schrodinger's Noise” that involves both attribute boosts and debuffs. By mixing these various Build systems, players can enjoy exciting linking reactions and expeirence unique battles.Random Combinations Battlefields:
Based on the random battlefield design in the 3D side-scrolling Roguelite games, we are presenting you REAL random elements including random events "Blake's Shop" - players will randomly gain a buff or debuff, "Nightmare Speaker" - timed challenges, and various fun mini-games. The game has over 400 battlefields, avoiding monotonous adventures.Feel the Beats of Electronic Music:
Players can find their own fighting paces following the "electronic music" in the game and decide whether to fight on the beats of the music. If they hit the beats, skills will have unexpected changes. When players enter a special status of "Neonization", the BGM will be replaced with more intense electronic music. Put on your headphones, let music strike you in battle and feel the hype!Last evaluated Jun 21, 2026
