Evaluation

Pixel Gladiator launched out of Early Access on September 8, 2017. Following launch, the developer continued shipping feature updates: Update #12 (December 21, 2017) added new enemies, a new boss, and new enemy generation patterns, and Update #13 (May 12, 2018) added a new random event with red robots. Update #14 (June 18, 2018) was the last substantive update to the game, adding alternative weapon firing modes. After June 2018, developer communications on this game shifted away from Pixel Gladiator content. Posts from September–October 2018 focused on the studio's next game, Aborigenus. A September 20, 2021 post announced yet another new game, Drone Gladiator, described as a 3D adaptation of Pixel Gladiator's gameplay. No further updates or content announcements for Pixel Gladiator have appeared since June 2018. In Update #13 (May 12, 2018), the developer mentioned plans for a "Pixel Gladiator 2" sequel but noted it was still in the planning stage and that other projects would come first. No further mention of this sequel has appeared in any subsequent post. The developer's attention moved to Aborigenus and then Drone Gladiator, with no indication that Pixel Gladiator itself would receive additional content. The only DLC listed is the game's soundtrack, which was released in December 2016. There are no unreleased DLC entries and no outstanding commitments specific to Pixel Gladiator. The game launched as a complete product and received post-launch updates that concluded in June 2018. The last developer communication specifically about Pixel Gladiator content was on June 18, 2018.
