Project CARS launched on May 6, 2015 and is no longer available for purchase on Steam — there are no purchase options on the store. The game received a robust post-launch content programme called "ON DEMAND," which delivered multiple paid DLC packs and free car additions. The major content drops included the Classic Lotus Expansion (November 25, 2015), the Renault Sport Car Pack (December 22, 2015), the Stanceworks Track Expansion (February 26, 2016), the US Car Pack (March 1, 2016), the Mercedes-AMG GT3 free addition (April 15, 2016), and the Pagani Nordschleife Endurance Expansion (May 6, 2016). These were accompanied by a series of feature and bug-fix patches, the last of which was Patch 11.2 on November 21, 2016 — the final recorded developer communication. No developer posts or updates have appeared since November 21, 2016. A sequel, Project CARS 2, was released in 2017, which is consistent with the original game winding down its update cadence. The game is no longer purchasable on Steam.
