Rabbit Hole

Rabbit Hole launched on March 1, 2024 as a free-to-play roguelike shooter and received several updates in the months following release. On June 2, 2024, developer ShortCake_Cafe published a final update post (version 1.0.6) explicitly stating: "After 3 years in development, Rabbit Hole is complete." The publisher Engi_ee confirmed in the same post that "production for the game will come to an end" with this update. This was not a surprise — a May 17, 2024 developer post had already announced that v1.0.6 would be the final update, merging planned v1.0.6 and v1.0.7 content together. Following the final update, the developer released a paid digital artbook DLC on September 2, 2024 — described as their "final Rabbit Hole related project (at least for a little while)" — serving as a creative epilogue to the game. No further game content has been released or announced. In January 2025, the game was briefly taken offline due to an antivirus false-positive issue but was restored on January 7, 2025. The developer explicitly noted this was a technical maintenance fix, not a content update, and reiterated the game's completed status. A first anniversary post on February 26, 2025 celebrated the community but announced no new content. The game is complete.
