Evaluation
Ring of Pain launched on October 15, 2020 and received three major free content updates post-launch: the Time Weaver Update (December 10, 2021), the Community Content Update (July 22, 2022), and the Multiclass Update (October 12, 2023). These updates shipped at irregular intervals roughly every 8–15 months.
On March 21, 2023, the developer (Twice Different) posted a team update explicitly acknowledging uncertainty about Ring of Pain's future: "I've mentioned in the past that we've been uncertain about adding more content due to our focus being on our next dark strategy game." They followed this with one final community-inspired content update in October 2023, which appears to be the culmination of that effort.
By October 2, 2024, the developer posted directly on Ring of Pain's Steam page to announce their next game, Winnie's Hole, framing it as a natural transition: "At a certain point after releasing a game, every developer needs to decide what to do next." This post signals the developer has moved on from Ring of Pain as their primary focus.
The only post after the Multiclass Update was a security-related bug fix on October 6, 2025 — purely maintenance with no new content. The single DLC listed (the soundtrack) was released the day after launch in October 2020. No unreleased DLC exists, no roadmap or future content has been announced, and the developer has publicly shifted focus to a new title. The Multiclass Update on October 12, 2023 is the most reasonable point at which Ring of Pain's content became complete.
Evidence
Developer announces their next game (Winnie's Hole) via Ring of Pain's Steam page, framing it as moving on after releasing Ring of Pain. No mention of further Ring of Pain content.
Multiclass Update shipped — the final major content update, delivering 10+ new items and 15+ achievements inspired by community suggestions.

About this game

Delve into randomly generated ring dungeons where encounters come to you!
Observe and plan your route. Will you go for the loot or backstab a creeping horror? As you scavenge, fight and sneak to new encounters, the ring reacts to your actions.
Play as fast or slow as you like in this challenging, turn-based roguelike. Just be careful where you tread - You may find yourself ambushed, or worse...

See the outcome of your choices so you can focus on decisions.
Creatures broadcast their actions in a hostile environment, ready to erupt. Will you flee or find a way to use the dungeon against itself?
Positioning is key to survival. You can be quickly overwhelmed...
Observe the Ring and strategise.
Learn, adapt, or face demise.

Mimics offer you a choice for a price. Take what you can hold and build a combination of gear with passive powers.
Maybe you’ll be quick and evasive, with an acid soaked blade. Or maybe you’ll be a brute force juggernaut, or a fireborn damage sink with an affinity for explosions.
Buy your way to power or adapt with what you scavenge in these unforgiving depths.

Deep in the Ring of Pain you will discover new paths into the unknown. Places with new friends, powerful loot, and cryptic rhyming lore.
Find pleasant reprieve and howling terrors best left undisturbed.
The brave may be rewarded for their risk... or crushed by their ambition.
In darkness, careful where you tread.
What was unknown now fills with dread.
Ring of Pain launches Oct 15th with these features and more:

Shadows cast a truth to see,
In darkness you can visit me.
