Serious Sam 4 launched on September 24, 2020 and received a run of post-launch updates adding new features, modes, and characters. The last major content addition was the standalone expansion Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, released on January 26, 2022 — a joint project between Croteam and Timelock Studio. A Steam Deck compatibility update followed in May 2022, but that was the last developer communication specifically about Serious Sam 4. On March 26, 2026, Croteam announced Serious Sam: Shatterverse — a new franchise entry developed by Behaviour Interactive, with Croteam explicitly noted as being focused on The Talos Principle and a new IP. Shatterverse launched on August 31, 2026 as a separate product. This franchise continuation does not represent new content for Serious Sam 4 itself. There are no unreleased DLC entries for Serious Sam 4, no roadmap or developer promises of additional content for the base game, and no developer communications about SS4 beyond 2022. The game is a complete, finished product.
