Evaluation

Super House of Dead Ninjas originally launched on February 18, 2013 and received one DLC — the True Ninja Pack — on August 6, 2013. The game then went dormant for years and was at some point delisted before being brought back to Steam by Bitmap Bureau, the studio formed by Mike (the game's original designer/programmer at Megadev). On December 3, 2024, Mike posted an official update confirming that Bitmap Bureau had regained control of the game and that it was once again available to purchase on Steam. Crucially, the post also stated: "we also have some big news to announce in the coming months which we think you'll all be interested to hear, so watch this space." This is a clear developer statement that something new is coming. However, as of June 28, 2026 — more than 18 months after that post — no follow-up announcement has been made. The promised news has not materialized and the developer has not posted any further updates, explanations, or clarifications. This means there is an outstanding commitment from the developer that remains unresolved, and the studio has gone silent well beyond a reasonable "coming months" timeframe.
