Superfly launched out of Early Access on June 17, 2022. At that time, the developer posted a heartfelt message stating that the game was "feature complete" and that the full release was their "last major content update," with plans to move on to their next project. However, the developer subsequently returned with additional major updates — contradicting that initial closure statement. In May 2023, a new Wanted System update (v1.2.2) shipped with 11 new enemies, a health system overhaul, and significant gameplay changes. At the end of that post, the developer again stated this was "likely to be our last major content release," citing plans to focus on getting onto the full Quest Store through performance and bug-fix work rather than new content. Then, once more, the developer surprised players with a holiday update in December 2023 (v1.3.1), adding building destruction and cosmetics. This is the most recent developer communication on record, dated December 22, 2023, and no news posts have followed since. Reading the full timeline: the developer has twice signaled they were wrapping up content, then shipped more anyway. The December 2023 update is the last entry across 28 scanned posts, with no subsequent announcements, roadmaps, or unreleased DLC listed on the store. The developer's pattern of continued updates despite prior "final update" statements makes the history complex, but the most recent communication (December 22, 2023) contains no forward-looking promises — it simply describes the holiday update's features. Since then, more than two years have passed with no further posts. Given the absence of any announced future content, no unreleased DLC, and over two years of silence following what appears to be a genuine wind-down (the developer said twice they were finishing up), the game is best understood as a complete, finished product.
