Evaluation

The developer announced on December 19, 2025 that The Backrooms Deluxe would be removed from the Steam store on December 24, 2025, in order to make way for its successor, The Backrooms Deluxe 2. The game's current store listing confirms it is no longer purchasable. Existing owners retain access to the game in their library, and the developer noted plans to eventually provide a standalone build through their Discord server. The game's content development had effectively concluded prior to delisting — the last meaningful content update was in August 2024, and the October 2025 announcement of the sequel made clear that new development efforts were being directed entirely to the new title.

Evidence

The game has no purchase options available, confirming it has been removed from the Steam storefront.
