VR: Vacate the Room launched out of Early Access on July 15, 2016, bringing with it Steam Achievements, an EX-Mode with a final hard puzzle, and an alternative ending. The developer then shipped several updates through late 2016 and 2017, including new languages, spatial audio fixes, and bug patches. On September 6, 2017, the only DLC — an Extras pack containing the original soundtrack, a puzzle guide, and printout puzzles — was released. Mixed Reality headset support was added in November 2017. The last notable developer communication was a May 2018 post announcing a standalone sequel, VR2: Vacate 2 Rooms, which has its own separate store page. All released DLC has shipped, no new content has been announced for this game, and developer activity on this title effectively concluded around 2017–2018. The store description even references "Part two" as a separate product, reinforcing that this game is a complete, self-contained experience.
