Whispering Willows

Whispering Willows launched on July 9, 2014 as a complete horror/adventure puzzle game. The only DLC ever released was a Soundtrack & Art Book, which shipped on the same day as the game itself — there has never been any story or gameplay DLC. The developer provided active post-launch support in the form of bug fixes and quality-of-life patches through the game's first few years, including controller support, translation updates, and gameplay tweaks. They also expanded to additional platforms (PlayStation 4, Vita, iOS, Android, and Xbox One) through 2015. In January 2016, the developer posted Patch 1.29 and explicitly noted that they would not be "doing too many more patches after this one" — signaling that active support was winding down. True to that statement, subsequent updates became infrequent maintenance patches: Patch 1.60 in April 2019, Patch 1.6.2 in October 2019, and Patch 1.6.4 in July 2020. No new content has been released or announced at any point, and the July 10, 2020 patch is the last known developer communication. There is no unshipped DLC, no announced future content, and no ongoing update cadence. The game launched as a complete, self-contained experience and has remained so. The final maintenance patch on July 10, 2020 represents the last meaningful developer activity.
