Evaluation

BlazBlue Entropy Effect launched on February 14, 2024, and has maintained a robust cadence of major content updates ever since. Since launch, the developer 91Act has shipped numerous significant additions: paid character DLC packs (Rachel in July 2024, Hazama in January 2025, Bullet in June 2025, and Naoto in February 2026), a free Dead Cells crossover character and challenge biome (September 2025), a free ICEY crossover, co-op modes, new difficulty tiers, and a new storyline chapter. This establishes a clear pattern of major content arriving roughly every 3–6 months. The most recent major release is the free Platinum character update on August 13, 2026 — just six days before today's assessment date — which added a new playable character, a new Extreme Mode boss challenge, Training Space upgrades, and more. Prior to that, an announcement post on July 17, 2026 had teased this update, confirming the developer was actively communicating and delivering on stated plans. The studio's producer shared a candid behind-the-scenes post in January 2025 (NEWS-10), revealing that 91Act nearly shut down in early 2024 but recovered and has continued growing. That same post previewed what became the February 2026 major update. A November 2025 developer roadmap post (NEWS-6) confirmed additional content commitments for the Chinese New Year 2026 window, which shipped on time. With a major free update literally just shipped this week, the developer actively communicating, and a well-established multi-year cadence of releases, this game is clearly in ongoing active content development with no signs of winding down.
