Byakuya Museum is a free indie pixel RPG that launched on May 26, 2023. The developer shipped one paid DLC — an anniversary commemorative book — on May 26, 2025, coinciding with the game's second anniversary. On February 15, 2026, the developer pushed a small update that reset some CG artwork and added a QR code in the game's easter egg room linking to a new short game called "Don't Die," which was released for free on a separate platform and is not coming to Steam. This appears to be the last substantive update to the game.
The developer's communications from 2023 focused on bug fixes and early plans for a sequel titled "Kotsu Puppet Workshop" (骨川人偶坊). By late 2024 and early 2025, the sequel's demo had launched on Steam as a free, separate product. The developer's energy has clearly shifted toward that sequel. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for Byakuya Museum, and no roadmap promising additional updates. The February 2026 update, which added a QR code to a new external game, reads as a farewell gesture rather than the beginning of a new content cycle.
