Cat Warfare

Cat Warfare is a free-to-play arena shooter that launched in February 2020 and has been continuously updated ever since. The developer, Not-So Classic Games, has shipped a steady stream of feature updates — adding new maps, game modes, weapons, cosmetics, and core system overhauls — across 2023, 2024, and 2025. Most significantly, on July 29, 2026 — just three days before today's date — the developer published an update explicitly titled "Start of an Era." In it, they upgraded the game to Unity 6.3, reduced the game's file size from 6 GB to 2 GB, and delivered a clear statement about the game's future: "This is not the end of Cat Warfare. It is the start of a new era." They also acknowledged past quiet periods but reassured players that the studio is still committed to the game. This follows a November 12, 2025 developer post where the team confirmed they still plan to expand Cat Warfare and add more content "when the time feels right," even while working on a separate new project called JunkRats. The September 2023 fifth-anniversary update also described a ground-up rebuild as "not the end of future updates, but the beginning of better and new ones." All three listed DLC items — the Full Game Upgrade, the Soundtrack, and the Gianni Gear cosmetic pack — have been released. No unshipped DLC is listed. However, the developer's own very recent words make clear that further content and development are intended.
