EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 The Shadow of New Despair

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair launched on Steam on July 18, 2016. All 18 DLC items — including weapon packs and two mission packs — were released between July 19 and August 23, 2016, completing the game's post-launch content within about five weeks of release. The developer's news feed for this game is almost entirely composed of announcements for other titles in the EDF franchise (EDF6, EDF: World Brothers 2, and a new game called Full Metal Schoolgirl). None of these posts announce or imply new content for EDF 4.1 itself. The sole EDF 4.1-specific post (September 30, 2016) was a bug-fix advisory about online cheating — the last communication of any kind directly about this game. With all DLC released, no unreleased content listed on the store, no developer statements pointing to future updates for this title, and no post-launch update cadence beyond the initial DLC wave, the game is a complete, finished product. Someone waiting to play it with all content available can do so now.
